Gary Dale Andrews

Rev. Gary Dale Andrews, age 60, of 205 South Smith Street in Sandersville died Saturday May 12 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Thursday May 17 in the Prayer Garden of the First Christian Church of Sandersville. The Rev. Marlon Lastinger will officiate.

Gary “Dale” Andrews was born April 5, 1952, in Artesia, New Mexico where he grew up on a dusty farm and cattle ranch. His twenty-five years of college included studies in Theology, Counseling, Political Science, Philosophy, Nursing, Languages, Ministry, and Public Administration. He received his B.A in Bible Studies from Oklahoma Christian College. He received a Masters in Theology from Harding Graduate School of Theology in Memphis, Tennessee. He saw himself as a Christian Mystic as well as just an everyday person in pursuit of the practical spiritual life. He has served as a minister, counselor, non-profit CEO, and has worked at a variety of practical jobs that have kept him close to earth. His lifestyle was one of minimalism and simplicity. As an experienced TV talk show host and occasional stand-up comedian, he has moved audiences to laughter and tears. His writings are reflections of his own spiritual journey with insights into the complexities of simply being human. He was preceded in death by his parents Archie and Joyce Andrews.

Survivors are his wife, Cindi Cardwell Andrews of Sandersville, a sister, Gayla Picou of Hammond, LA, two brothers Jerry Andrews of Roswell NM and Jay Andrews of Brownfield, TX and several nieces and nephews.

The family request donations be made to the First Christian Church of Sandersville, P. O. Box 45, Sandersville, Georgia 31082.

There will be a public viewing on Wednesday from 3:00 untill 5:00pm at the funeral home and the family will receive friends at the social hall of the First Christian Church on Thursday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm prior to the memorial service.
