Mrs. Adeline Maraman Cook, age 92, of Sandersville, died Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at Heritage Inn Nursing Home following an extended illness. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 23 rd at 6:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Greg Hall will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m until the hour of service.
Mrs. Cook was born and reared in Shepherdsville, KY., the daughter of the late Frank Maraman and the late Nellie Richardson Maraman Burns. She was a homemaker traveling the world with her husband, who served a career in the US Army. Later in life, Mrs. Cook lived in Fairburn, where she was an active member of New Hope United Methodist Church and where she worked as a Quality Control Supervisor for Glassrock Products Corporation prior to retiring to Chattanooga, TN and then Sandersville to be near family. Her husband, James W. Cook and her son, Bruce Alan Cook both predecease her.
Survivors are her children James Randall Cook and his wife Sherry of The Villages, FL., Linda C. Parham and her husband Adrian of Tennille, and Cheryl M. Hickman and her husband Carl of Ooltewah, TN; daughter-in-law, Sandra Stephens of Darien; grandchildren, Carla Hickman, Dr. Amanda Hickman and her husband Dr. Neil Schweitzer, Heather Hall and her husband Pastor Greg Hall, Debbie Spruill and her husband Ronnie and Jason Batey and his wife Alli; several great grandchildren; and her sister, Evelyn Hutchins of Bardstown, KY.
