Mrs. Adeline Meeks Hitchcock, age 80, of Tennille, died Sunday, April 22, 2012, at the Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 24th, at 2:00pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Rev. Danny Thomas and Rev. Gary Mimbs will officiate. Pallbearers will be Raymond Pounds, Gene Renfroe, Donald Farmer, Don Medley, Keith Meeks, Caleb Cabe, Jimmy Hitchcock, David Hitchcock, Ray Guy and Harold Meeks.
Mrs. Hitchcock was born in Washington County the daughter of the late Charlie Daniel Meeks and the late Myrtle Lord Meeks. She worked as a beautician for over 50 years. Mrs. Hitchcock is predeceased by her husband, Ellis Bo Hitchcock.
Survivors are: her daughter, Jennifer Farmer (Bobby); grandchildren, Mechay F. Cabe (Mac) and Dean Farmer (Paula) all of Tennille; great-grandchildren, Caleb Cabe, Ashley Cabe, Sarah Ann Cabe and Bo Cabe; her sister, Brenda M. Dale of Orlando, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
The family may be contacted at the Farmer residence on Johnston-Cochran Road in Tennille and they will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
