Aimee Marie Anderson

November 25, 1962 — December 12, 2023

Aimee Marie Anderson, age 61, of Sandersville, formerly of Jonesbourgh, TN., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.  A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, December 16th at 2:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville with burial in Brownwood Cemetery.   The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service.  Reverend Tony Mimbs will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Morris, Timothy Black, Liam O'Conner, Austin Guidry, Maclane Guidry and Jason Smith.  Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Guidry, Joel Guidry, Joseph Guidry, Joshua Guidry, Aaron Black and Gabriel Anderson.

Aimee was born in Tampa, Florida, the daughter of the late William Paul Guidry Sr. and the late Kathryn Sindalar Guidry.  She was reared in an US Air Force family residing wherever the military sent her father.  Aimee graduated high school in Burlington County NJ. She later followed her caring nature and became a licensed practical nurse.  She moved to Augusta, Georgia, where she worked for the Medical College of Georgia.  In 1991 she married her husband, Shannon and moved to Sandersville, where she worked for the Washington County Regional Medical Center, mostly in same day surgery.  Aimee and Shannon moved to Jonesborough, Tennessee, where she worked at Greene Mountain Pediatrics.  She loved the mountains and camping.  Her greatest joy was raising children and grandchildren.  She never met a stranger and was loved by many.  In addition to her parents, Aimee is also predeceased by one brother, Michael Guidry.

Survivors include her husband, Shannon M. Anderson of Sandersville; children, Patrick Afflerback of Sandersville, Matthew Anderson and his fiancé Alexus Booth of Milledgeville and Lori Hernandez and her husband Juan; grandchildren, Gage Afflerback, Evan Anderson, Lydia Brinson, Braylee Reker and Mark Hernandez; and siblings, Paul and Fran Guidry of NJ., Fred and Jolynn Black of Augusta, Duane and Mary Jo Guidry of NJ., Michael and Lynda Smith of Grovetown, Cindy Guidry of Augusta and Martin and Denise O'Connor of NJ.
