Alfred Alton Williams

Mr. Alfred Alton Williams, age 76, of Tennille, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024 following an extended illness.  A graveside memorial service honoring his life will be held on Wednesday, November 13th at 2:00 p.m. in Zeta Cemetery, Tennille.  Reverend Bobby Williford will officiate.

Mr. Williams was a native and lifelong resident of Tennille, son of the late Alton Williams and the late Sarah Bridges Curl.  He began working at an early age in a schoolwork program with the city of Tennille.  He later worked for Washington Manufacturing Company before returning to the city of Tennille where he worked for 32 years in maintenance.  He grew up attending the Tennille Baptist Church and always loved fishing and hunting.  Following his retirement in 2004, Alfred became a full-time grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janice Williams of Tennille; grandchildren, Buffie Anne Williams of Sandersville and Jennifer Amy Williams (Brandon Attaway) of Ivey; grandchildren, Terry Austin Guthrie (Jasmine Brown) of Ivey, Logan Godfrey of Oconee, Makyla Chayanne Guthrie of Ivey, Dawson May and Franklin Brookins both of Milledgeville; his brother, Billy Gene Bridges and his wife Judy of Grovetown and sister, Shirley Anne Pulliam and her husband Eugene of Sandersville.

The family will greet friends at graveside.
