Mr. Allen Benion Hooks, age 80, of Fifth Street in Tennille died Monday evening August 24 at his residence following an extended illness.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Hooks will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday August 26 in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Reverend Lamar Brantley will officiate.
Mr. Hooks was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Johnny Ralph Hooks and the late Doris Elizabeth Thigpen Hooks. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hubert Hooks and Buford Hooks. He was a retired shift supervisor for Thiele Kaolin Company. Mr. Hooks was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene of Sandersville and a member of the Tennille Masonic Lodge #256 F&AM.
Survivors are: his wife, Willie Ruth Phillips Hooks of Tennille; a son, David Allen Hooks and his wife Susan of Tennille; a daughter, Cheryl Hooks Poole and her husband Wayne of Sandersville; six grandchildren, Raven Poole Smith, Kelly Hooks Bianco, Eric Wayne Poole, Bryan Allen Hooks, Gannon Snell and Rob Snell; ten great grandchildren, Peyton Poole, Laney Poole, Colton Smith, Brody Smith, Emily Bianco, Matthew Bianco, Seth Bianco, Channon Hooks, Bryanna Hooks and Jacey Snell; and a brother, Sammie William Hooks of North Augusta, SC.
The family will be at the Hooks residence, 310 Fifth Street in Tennille.
May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
