Allene Drake Haynes

Ms. Allene Drake Haynes, age 79, of Sandersville, died Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at her residence. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. at the Kendall Heights Church of God with burial at 4:00 p.m. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan. Reverends Quint Shepherd, Bobby Williford and Danny Melson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jody Whitney, Richie Coulter, Marlie J. Lanthrip, Brent Williford, Craig Williford, Weston Williford, Billy Lanthrip, Stacy Williford, Jay Garrett, Keith Copeland, Jonathon Shepherd, and Harry Spencer.

Ms. Haynes was born in Coweta County the daughter of the late Daniel Harvy Drake and the late Ieula McLendon Drake. She spent her entire working career with Bell South, retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Rock Springs Baptist Church in Coweta County and she faithfully attended the Kendall Heights Church of God in Sandersville.

Survivors are her sons, James Dennis Haynes of Newnan and Rodney Allen Haynes and his wife Sheri of Sandersville; grandchildren, Alan Haynes and his wife Ashley, Michelle Haynes, Amber Haynes, Holly Haynes and Chloe Pearson; three great-granddaughters; sisters, Inez D. Spencer of Covington and Eleanor D. Melson and her husband Lamar of Norcross; and her brother, Alvin Drake and his wife Lisa of Newnan.

The family will be at the home of Rodney and Sheri Haynes on Sunhill-Grange Road in Sandersville and the family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home.
