Miss Amber Michelle Phillips, age 20, of Sandersville, died Monday, September 22, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September the 26th, at 2:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Big Sandy Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilkinson County. The Reverend Keith Lindsey will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be: Ralph Tanner, Ben Avant, Donald Brickle, Trey Logue, Durran Smith, Craig Williford, Daniel Johnson, J.T. Frederick, Austin Cowart, Mark Kent and Britt Helton.
Amber was born in Augusta and grew up in both Gibson and Sandersville. She attended Glascock and Washington County High Schools and she graduated from Georgia Military College. Amber worked as a recruiter for Advantage Resourcing in Pooler and she was known by many as a great and compassionate friend.
Amber is survived by her parents, Jason and Marsha Butler of Sandersville, and Ricky Phillips of Gibson; her sister, Shelby Phillips of Sandersville and her brother, Josh Butler of Harrison; grandparents, Marshall and Teresa Rowlen of Gibson, Anthony and Sandra Butler of Nicholsville, Eddie and Becky Smith of Norwood, Barbara Hasty of South Carolina, and Rhonda Phillips of Augusta; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will be at their residence on Pine Needle Road and they will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
