Mrs. Ammie Johnson “Mema” Robinson, age 85, of Hwy. 68, North in Sandersville, died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 2:00pm at the First Church of the Nazarene with burial in the Sisters Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Danny Thomas and Rev. Jim Dunn will officiate. Pallbearers will be John Joyner, Thomas Brantley, James Garrett, Jimmy H. Smith, Michael Robinson and Paul Rountree. Honorary pallbearers will be the Christian Workers Sunday School Class at the First Church of the Nazarene.
Mrs. Robinson was a native and life long resident of Washington County the daughter of the late Charlie Moxley Johnson and the late Lizzie Mae Smith Johnson. She was a homemaker and a long time member of the First Church of the Nazarene and the Christian Workers Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Robinson is predeceased by a son Frank Cooper.
Survivors are her children; Billy Johnson (Margie) of Tennille, J.W. Cooper of Dublin, Brenda Prosser (Sam) and Bertha Sanders (Grady) all of Sandersville, Lonnell Phillips of Lake Sinclair and Mike Robinson (Deborah) of Davisboro, 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and her sister Mary Alice “Bill” Brantley of Sandersville.
The family will be at the Sanders residence 706 Betty Street in Sandersville and will receive friends Monday from 5 to 7pm at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
