Ann Harvley Smith

January 23, 1940 — October 16, 2022

Mrs. Ann Harvley Smith, born in Louisville, was Valedictorian and Most Talented of her Senior Class at Wadley High School and married her sweetheart Sid Smith of Bartow, Georgia who she met as a result of a blind date mix up. She raised three sons in Atlanta and Bartow and was active in many areas including PTO president, DFACS Board, Bartow Community Club, and many others. Ann was a homemaker and worked in the offices of several businesses, and excelled at cooking for family and friends. Her passions were many and included playing bridge with the girls, performing on the stage with the Schoolhouse Players as well as her love of music which she shared through decades of service as pianist and organist of the United Methodist Church of Moxley. She was always happy and willing to play for anyone’s special occasion or lend a helping hand in any way she could.

Her love was her family and being an active parent,grandparent and great grandparent. Ann passed peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Sunday, October 16, 2022. She is survived by her sons, Mitch Smith (Marian) of Bartow, Brad Smith of Atlanta, and Jay Smith (Susan) of Bartow, her grandchildren, Todd Smith, Mandy Jackson (Jeremy),Dane Smith, Walker Smith (Makynzie), Jackson Smith and her great grandchildren Brooks, Sid,Frankie and Tate. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Linda Smith Gordy (Colin).

Visitation will be held at her home, 2953 Moxley Bartow Road, from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19th .

A graveside service will be performed at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20th at the Hall Family Cemetery on Woodrow Smith Road.

Pallbearers will be Todd Smith, Jeremy Jackson, Walker Smith, Dane Smith and Jackson Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be John Gunn, Mary Jones,  Cheryl Tanner, Sandra Williamson,  and Ellyn May Womack.

Donations in memory of Ann Smith can be made to the Bartow Community Club/Schoolhouse Players, PO Box 251, Bartow, GA 30413.
