Mrs. Ann Adams Wilt, age 80, of Durham NC, formerly of Charlotte NC, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009. A memorial service was held on Thursday, October 8, 2009 in Durham. A graveside committal service will be held for both Ann and Frank who died July 2, 2007, on Saturday, October 24, at 2:00pm in the Old City Cemetery in Sandersville with the Rev. Mark Carter officiating.
Mrs. Wilt was born in Atlanta the daughter of the late Dr. Charles Clyde Adams and the late Pauline Ingram Adams. She was a graduate of Oglethorpe University Class of 1951 where she was an active member of the theater department. Mrs. Wilt was a former longtime resident of Charlotte and enjoyed years of sailing with her husband Frank, as a member of the Lake Norman Yacht Club. She was a member of the Charity League of Charlotte, the AAUW and the DAR. Ann and Frank were members of the Sharon United Methodist Church in Charlotte.
Mrs. Wilt is survived by her son, Daniel Frank Wilt Jr. (Linda) of Eagle Springs NC, daughters, Jane Wilt Boyd (Jim) of Fort Mill SC and Nancy Adams Cutler of Durham NC, grandchildren, Brian Carleton Cutler, Carleton Frank Cutler, James Jason Boyd (Lauren), David Franklin Boyd (Meredith), Eliot Hartwell Boyd (Elizabeth), and Daniel Frank Wilt III, and great grandchildren, Benjamin Bradley Boyd and Samantha Rachel Boyd.
