Mrs. Annie Mozelle Sheppard Adams, age 93, of Sandersville, died Sunday morning February 19, 2017 in the Tennille Retirement Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, February 22 at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Lee Lacey will officiate.
Mrs. Adams was a native of Washington County, the daughter of the late William McKinley Sheppard, Sr. and the late Mozelle Sheppard. She was preceded in death by a brother, William McKinley Sheppard, Jr. She was the wife of the late James Vernon Warren and the late Jack Herman Adams. Mrs. Adams lived in Macon and was a court reporter in Bibb County for forty years. She moved back to Sandersville in 2000. Mrs. Adams was a member of First Baptist Church of Sandersville and the Women's Missionary Union. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Washington County Historical Society and did a lot of genealogy research of her family.
Survivors are: her nephew, Robert Barry Sheppard of Sandersville; great nieces and nephews, Stephanie Lindsey of Sandersville, Jeremy Lindsey (Dee) of Sandersville and Julie Lindsey Smith (David) of Tennille; several great great nieces and nephews and a great great great niece.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday until the hour of service at 2:00 P.M.
