Annie W Freeman

Mrs. Annie W. Freeman, age 95, of Toomsboro, GA, passed away on Sunday, January 21, 2024.  A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 11:00 a.m. at Toomsboro Methodist Church with burial in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.  Reverend Gail Smith and Reverend Gary Griffin will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jamie Lindsey, Charlie Lindsey, Chris Bryan, and Jason Bryan. The Freeman family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville, and they will greet friends at the church prior to the funeral service from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.

Mrs. Freeman was born and raised near Riddleville in Washington County, GA, the daughter of the late Charles George Wiggins and the late Ethel Sheppard Wiggins.  She grew up attending Jackson's Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing.  After graduating from Sandersville High School, she worked for several years at Holmes Canning Company until marrying her late husband of 57 years, Dennard Roswell “Roz” Freeman.  Shortly after their marriage, they moved to Toomsboro, where she became a homemaker and raised her family.  Mrs. Freeman took pleasure in reading, gardening, and tending to her family’s home.  She was a longtime and active member of Toomsboro Methodist Church.

Mrs. Freeman is survived by her three children, Stephen Roswell Freeman of Austin, TX, David Robert "Bobby" Freeman of Toomsboro, and Robin Ann Freeman and her husband Tim Collette of Bishop, GA; grandchildren, Laurien Smith and her husband Matthew, Megan Trad and her husband Charlie, Greg Freeman and his wife Kelsey, Bailey Ann Collette and her husband Wil Masters, and Maggie Collette; five great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her husband Roz, parents, sister Eileen Lindsey, brothers Charles George “CG” and William Wiggins, and daughter-in-law Brenda Freeman (Stephen).
