Mrs. Annie Laura Johnson Burgamy, age 89, of 430 South Burgamy Road in Warthen died Monday morning November 9 in the Washington County Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Wednesday November 11 in the Pine Hill United Methodist Church with burial in the Pine Hill Church Cemetery. Rev. Don Black and Rev. Tim Powell will officiate. Pallbearers will be Eric Channell, Don Channell, Wesley Channell, Tony Brown, Russell Brown and Cliff Sheppard.
Mrs. Burgamy was a life long resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Algie Johnson and the late Mary Hazel Parker Johnson. She was the wife of the late Andrew Marion Burgamy. Mrs. Burgamy was a homemaker and a retired seamstress with Sparta Manufacturing Company. She was a member of the Pine Hill United Methodist Church.
Survivors are her children, Barbara Burgamy Channell, Linda Grace Burgamy and Charles L. “Duck” Burgamy all of Warthen, four grandchildren, Herman Eric Channell, Dan Clayton Channell, George Wesley Channell and Dawn Burgamy Brown, five great grandchildren, Harley Channell, Houston Channell, Matthew Channell, Madison Brown and Maci Brown.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday.
The family suggests that donations be made to the Pine Hill Cemetery Fund, c/o Betty Everett, 2664 Highway 102, Warthen, Georgia 31094.
