Annie Louise Shurling Cox

Mrs. Annie Louise Shurling Cox, age 97, of South Manhattan Street in Tampa Florida died Saturday December 22 in the South Tampa Health and rehab Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at ll: 00 A.. Thursday December 27 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. The Rev. Burton Dixon will officiate with burial in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. Pallbearers will be Charles Townsend, Jordan Price, Eddie Cox, Billy Hubbell and Andy Robinson.

Mrs. Cox was a native of Washington County, Georgia but had made her home in Tampa for the past 50 years. She was the daughter of the late William Tilden Shurling and the late Mary Belle Hodges Shurling. She was the wife of the late Marion Thomas Cox. Mrs. Cox was a retired salesperson for eagles Five and Dime and a homemaker. She was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors are a daughter, Winifred Cox Townsend of Kite, two sons, Claude Cox of Tampa and Cecil Cox of Tampa, a sister, Fannie Belle Cox of Atlanta, five grandchildren, Eddie Cox, Lamar Cox, Cindy Jarrard, Marcia Robinson and Charles Townsend II , and ten great grandchildren.

May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will greet friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 10:00 A.M. Thursday until the hour of service.
