Anthony F Taylor, Sr.

Mr. Anthony F Taylor, Sr., (Tony) age 64 of Tennille, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Antioch Christian Church in Oconee with Reverend Hal Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 13, 2023 beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Mr. Taylor was born in Milledgeville, the son of the late Merlin V. Taylor and the late Vera Jeanette Rowland Taylor. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 8 years and spent 22 years working as a heavy equipment operator for Howard Sheppard and the next 8 years at Arcilla Mining and Land Co.  Tony, aka Shirtail, enjoyed having a good time, especially if he was “pulling your chain” and making a good joke. He was an avid outdoorsman and was passionate about hunting and fishing. Tony also enjoyed camping and listening to Bluegrass music. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Hunting Club for over 25 years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Johnny Taylor and Roger Taylor; sister, Lisa Fountain.

Mr. Taylor is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Camille Jones Taylor; children, T.J. Taylor (Darla Wiley) of Warthen, Brandy Graham and her husband T.J. Graham of East Dublin, Zach Taylor and Lily Kate Taylor, both of Tennille, and nephew Clay Fountain and his wife Stephanie of Ivey; grandchildren, Hannah Taylor, Summer Taylor, Hollister Forzetting, Addison Graham, Hayden McDermitt, and Wayne “Jr” Wiley; siblings, Elaine Branton of Barnwell, SC, Wayne Taylor and Len Taylor, both of Milledgeville; and many other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The family will be at the Taylor Residence on Kaolin Road.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tony’s memory to the Taylor Family Support Fund, 7250 Kaolin Road, Tennille, GA 31089.
