Barbara Jackson Beckworth

Mrs. Barbara Jackson Beckworth, age 87, of Riddleville passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023, at her residence.  A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at New Bethel Baptist Church in Riddleville with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Danny Thomas, Reverend Marty Deal, and Reverend M.D. Cabe will officiate. Pallbearers will be Greg Frazier, Randy Jackson, John Beckworth, B.J. Dalton, Chris Simonavice, and Kyle Brooks. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Beckworth was born in Riddleville, the daughter of the late Irvin M. Jackson, and the late Maxie Bedgood Jackson. She was an efficient homemaker as well as an excellent cook, and the loving wife of the late Daniel R. Beckworth. Mrs. Beckworth also enjoyed spending time in her garden and working in her yard. One of her greatest passions in life was owning and operating Tennille Food Center for the better part of 25 years. She was a wonderful proprietor but found the greatest pleasure in interacting with her customers. Mrs. Beckworth loved her family above all else. She was a faithful follower of Christ and a dedicated member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Michael R. “Mike” Beckworth and his wife Rebecca, Dale Beckworth, and Danette Dalton and her husband John all of Riddleville; grandchildren, John Beckworth and his wife Mollie, Lindsey Beckworth and her husband Chris Simonavice, B.J. Dalton and his wife Jessie, and Megan Brooks and her husband Kyle; great grandchildren, Hutson Beckworth, Ellie Beckworth, Betsy Kate Brooks, Maggie Lou Brooks, and Jed Dalton; and several nieces & nephews.
