Barbara Thomas Giles Mauldin “Tut”, 77, passed away on March 5, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at 2PM in the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Milledgeville. Burial will follow in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. The family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1PM until the service hour.

Mrs. Mauldin was born in Macon, and moved to Sandersville, where she spent many years raising her children and working at a local plywood company, before moving to Milledgeville, where she lived for the past several decades. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Hill Thomas, Jr. and the late Penelope Wall Thomas and was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Hill Thomas, III and a son in law, David Brantley. Mrs. Mauldin was always dressed to perfection. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed billiards, boating, gardening, and reading. In later years, she worked at the Ritz Carlton Gift Shop at Lake Oconee, and volunteered at Harriett’s Closet in Milledgeville.

She is survived by her husband, Guilford “Guil” Mauldin, Jr. of Milledgeville ; her children, Tracey Giles Brantley of Sandersville, Dr. William Perry Giles, Jr. (Lori) of Athens, Allison Carol Giles of Sandersville ; her grandchildren, Alyssa Giles Sanders (Caleb) of Deepstep, Abigail Giles Wagler (Hunter) of Statham, Margaret “Maggie” Berry Giles of Athens ; her great grandchildren, Thomas Jake Sanders and Vera Ann Wagler ; her sister, Penelope Thomas Smith (Bob) of Sandersville ; her stepsons, John Mauldin, Clinton Mauldin, and Trey Mauldin ; her step-granddaughter, Hannah Mauldin ; and her fur babies, Ruby and Petey; and a niece, and a number of nephews.

Tut loved flowers, however, anyone wishing to make Memorial Contributions, instead of sending flowers, may do so to “Harriett's Closet” in Milledgeville.
