Barbara Bowen Rogers

Mrs. Barbara Bowen Rogers, age 79, of Wadley, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Augusta University Hospital in Augusta Georgia.   A family celebration of her life will be held at a later date.

Barbara was born and reared in Madison Wisconsin, the daughter of the late Jim Bowen and the late Virginia Johnson Bowen.  She moved with her family to Orlando, Florida as a teenager as they owned and operated a family Barbeque Restaurant.  There she met her future husband Berl Calvin Rogers.  She and Berl began life together living in Orlando, Kissimmee, and Okeechobee Florida.  She was a homemaker and possessed and passion for cooking, especially for her family.  In 2021, She and Berl moved to Georgia to be near family.  In addition to her parents, Barbara is also predeceased by her brother, Doug Bowen.

Survivors include her husband Berl of Wadley, GA; children, Burell Douglas Rogers also of Wadley and Julie R. Johnston and her husband Derek of Deatsville, AL; grandchildren, B. Lee Rogers, Brandon Rogers and his wife Bit, Heidi Polito and her husband Gerard and Dustin Murphy and his wife Melissa; great grandchildren, Sarah, Daisy, Olivia, Avra, and Lily; siblings  Jimmy Bowen and his wife Cindy of Wisconsin and David Bowen and his wife Susie of Florida; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Bowen also of Wisconsin.
