Barquell Thomas Maulden

Mr. Barquell Thomas Maulden, 91, passed away Saturday, December 6,2014 at Tennille Retirement Home in Tennille, Georgia.

Mr. Maulden was born in Ludowici, Georgia but lived in Effingham County for a number of years. He was a veteran serving in the United States Marine Corp. during World War II and was a conductor for the Norfork Southern Railroad. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church of Springfield and he enjoyed woodworking.

Barquell is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Margaret Maulden and three sisters, Aris Bragg, Berma Usher and Norma Exley.

Survivors include his three children, Janice Garner (Bill) of Warthen, Georgia, Gail Gnann (Howard) of Aiken, South Carolina and Deryl (Michelle) Maulden of Springfield, Georgia; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 10 - 11 a.m. at Riggs Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home. Burial will be held in Union Cemetery (Springfield, Georgia).

Riggs Funeral Home in Guyton, Georgia is in charge of these arrangements.
