Ben Lanthripp

April 24, 1942 — December 25, 2014

Mr. Ben Lanthripp, age 72, of Sandersville, died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 28th, at 2:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Davisboro City Cemetery. The Reverend Larry Giles will officiate. Pallbearers will be Aaron Archer, Tom Brooks, Michael Nolan, Lanier McCoy, Steve Swint and Joey Armour.

Mr. Lanthripp was a native of Washington County the son of the late Jack Lanthripp and the late Lalla Adams Lanthripp. He is also predeceased by his first wife Mildred Carroll Lanthrip and a sister, Dorothy Prosser. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Lantripp spent his working career at Thiele Kaolin Company from which he retired. During his retirement, Ben worked for the Washington EMC. He was a member of the Sisters Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Betty Hawkins Lanthripp; his daughter, Sandra L. Armour of Sandersville; his step-daughter Mary Anne Mullis and her husband Ricky of Milledgeville; granddaughters, Virginia Casey Brooks and her husband Tom, Sabrina Nicole Nolan and her husband Michael all of Sandersville and Bridget Ashely Archer and her husband Aaron of Warthen; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers, William Lanthripp of California, David Lanthripp and his wife Mary and Mike Lanthripp and his wife Ginny all of Sandersville; his sister, Shirley Chapman and her husband Henry of Tennille; and a special nephew, Jackey Keyes and his wife Claudia of Athens.

The family will be at the Lanthripp residence on Old Linton Road and they will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
