Benjamin Shaler Brown

Mr. Benjamin Shaler Brown, age 80, of Sandhill Road in Mitchell, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at his residence. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be on Wednesday July 30, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., at Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene in Tennille, with burial to follow at Zeta Cemetery. Reverend Lamar Brantley and Reverend Bryce Jeffcoat will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Serving as pallbearers will be John Garner, Clint Durden, Allen Darsey, Daryl Frost, Phil Smith, Clay Grace, Edward Newsome and Jeff Hall.

Shaler was born and reared in Washington County, son of the late James Benjamin "Jake" Brown and the late Bonnie Bell Dye Brown. He attended Washington County Schools and started his working career at J.P. Stevens Textiles, followed by Sandersville Coca Cola Company. Later Shaler transitioned to the Kaolin Industry working in production for Anglo American Clays and retiring from Imerys.  In retirement he worked for Twin City Auto Parts store.  Shaler was an avid and master fisherman.  His favorite fishing hole was buffalo creek.  Shaler also loved gardening and sharing produce with family and friends. He was a dedicated member of the Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene.   Working, fishing and spending time with his family where all his favorite things to do.

Survivors include his loving wife, Shirley D. Brown; son Benji Brown and his wife Denise; his grandson Matthew Brown and his wife Toni all of Mitchell and his sister Tina Brown of Milledgeville.

Donations may and made to Good Shepherd Church of the Nazarene 316 East South Central Ave., Tennille, GA. 31089.
