Mr. Bennie H. Wilson, age 83, of 207 East Church Street in Sandersville died Friday in the Ogeechee Hospice House in Statesboro following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday June 12 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. The Rev. Roy Smith will officiate with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille.
Mr. Wilson was a native of Johnson County, Georgia, the son of the late Harris Wilson and the late Willie Mae Brantley Wilson. He was the husband of the late Katherine May Wilson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Faye Wilson Riner, a sister, Lois Blue and a brother, Colon Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a retired electrician, as well as a licensed movie projectionist. He was a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors are his daughter, Brenda Wilson Smart Cardo (Steve) of Augusta, his grandchildren, Lee Smart, Tianna (Leroy) Smart Powell, April (Mitch) Riner Stafford, and Jennifer (Corbin) Riner Bell, his great grandchildren, Alexander Smart, Andrew Smart, Alivia Smart, J. T. Powell, Kaylee Powell, Gracie Stafford, Addison Stafford, Cole Bell and Conner Bell, a sister, Grace Griswell of Wrightsville.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 2:00 P.M. on Sunday until the hour of service.
