Benny Mcdonald Smith, Jr.

Mr. Benny McDonald Smith, Jr., age 84, of Buford, Georgia, formerly of Sandersville, died Friday morning October 21, 2011 in Cumming. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 24th, in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Mr. Smith was a native of Fulton County, Georgia, the son of the late Benny McDonald Smith, Sr. and the late Alma Harbuck Smith. He was a graduate of Atlanta College and received a Jurisprudence degree. He was a retired salesperson and was formerly associated with Sandersville Builders Supply. Mr. Smith was a Mason and a member of the Mary Martha Bethany Episcopal Church. He was an army veteran of World War II.

Survivors are his daughter, Joy S. Veal of Brunswick; his sons, Tim Smith of Buford, Larry Smith of Munford, AL and Ben Smith III of Marion , SC; a brother, Clayton Smith of Peachtree City; six grandsons and ten great-grandchildren.

The family suggests donations be made to the Mary Martha Bethany Episcopal Church, 3805 Braselton Highway NE, Buford, Georgia 30518.
