Bernard A. Sessions

Mr. Bernard A. Sessions, age 85, of Tennille, died Friday, May 4, 2012 at the V.A. Community Living Center in Augusta. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 pm in the chapel of the May and Smith Funeral Home with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens. The Rev. Larry Glover will officiate. Pallbearers will be Chris Hodges, Keith Mayo, Travis Green, Josh Tompkins, Daniel James and Johnny Peavy.

Mr. Sessions was born in Washington County the son of the late Forrest Lester Sessions and the late Loulie Malpass Sessions. He was retired from the Warner Robins Air Force base as a machinist. He was a member of the Antioch Christian Church and he was a US Navy veteran of WWII. Mr. Sessions is predeceased by his wives, Catherine Turner Sessions and Evelyn Davis Sessions.

Survivors are; his daughter Judy S. (Jerry) Wilkerson of Tennille, grandchildren, Alecia W. (Chris) Hodges of Oconee and Amber W. (Keith) Mayo of Martinez, great grandchildren, Hannah Hodges, Cole Hodges, Ava Mayo, step-children Frank (Sue) Tompkins, Farris (Martha) Tompkins, and Deborah Faircloth all of Oconee, step grandchildren, Lynn (Roger) Hollie, of Wrightsville, Nancy (Richard) Gunn and Josh (Tyia) Tompkins both of Oconee, Jamie T. (Jonathan) McAfee of Pringle, step great grandchildren, Abby Hollie, Nathan Hollie, Matthew Hollie, Christopher Tompkins, Conner Gunn, Sara Gunn and Everett McAfee and his sister Lalla S. Peavy of Milledgeville.

The family will be at the home of Alecia and Chris Hodges Hwy. 272 Oconee and they will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday prior to the funeral service from 2 to 3pm.
