Mrs. Bernice Crabb Bussell, age 89, of 211 West Adams Street in Tennille died Friday morning, February 25, 2011, at the residence of her daughter in Kathleen. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, February 28, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Rev. Mark Jones and Rev. Andy Carter will officiate. Pallbearers will be Jody Garnto, Mark Pullen, Russell Meeks, Gary Bussell, Jimmy Rae Smith, John Eden and Bobby Smith.
Mrs. Bussell was a native of Johnson County, Georgia, the daughter of the late George Riley Crabb and the late Rebecca Jane Brantley Crabb. She was the wife of the late James Andrew Bussell. Mrs. Bussell was a retired employee of the Washington Manufacturing Company and served as a WAC during World War II. She was a member of the Tennille Baptist Church.
Survivors are a daughter, Rebecca Bussell of Kathleen, a sister, Bessie Mae Smith of Tennille, a sister- in-law, Geneva Bussell of Tennille, a best friend, Lavern Amerson of Tennille, a friend, Karen Wimberley of Kathleen, and nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday.
