Betty Jackson

Mrs. Betty Mertz Jackson, age 82, of 210 S. Fourth Street, Tennille died Sunday, July 13, 2008 at her residence. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M, Wednesday, July 16th at the Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Rev. J. Emory Lindsey will officiate.

Mrs. Jackson was the daughter of the late Grady Ellis Mertz and the late Myrtle Smith Mertz. She was predeceased by her husband, Johnnie L. Jackson. Mrs. Jackson was a retired receptionist and desk clerk for the Villa South. She was a mother and housewife.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Tennille Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Ellis (Jan) Douglass, Harrison, Joanna (Thomas) Blount, Wrightsville, and Julie (Rex) Brantley, Harrison; two sisters, Joann Mertz and Dorothy McGarity both of Atlanta; eight grandchildren, Warthen (Asumi) Douglass, NC, Eli (Amanda) Douglass, Macon, Daniel Douglass, Tennille, Elizabeth Douglass, Macon, Johnathan (Jean) Beicher, and Justin Beicher, Winder, Eric Smith and Steffen Smith both of Harrison; six great- grandchildren, Ethan Douglass, Harrison Beicher, Olivia Beicher, Hayden Beicher, Vivian Beicher, and Taylor Raye Beicher.

The Family will receive friends at the Jackson residence Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M.
