Betty Jean Williams

Mrs. Betty Jean Williams, age 74 of Riddleville, passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, after an extended illness. A visitation to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Mrs. Williams was born in Washington County, the daughter of the late Forest and Lula Brantley. She was a homemaker for most of her life but was very proud of her time working with mental health support services in Washington County. Mrs. Williams was a talented artist, and painting was her favorite activity. She also enjoyed working in her garden and reading books. Mrs. Williams attended Kendall Heights Church of God. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ben Williams, and daughter, Missy Morrison.

Mrs. Williams is survived by her daughters, Nicole Meade (Rick) of Augusta, Wendy Drake (Charles Newsome) of Gray, and April Williams of Wrightsville; grandchildren, Hunter Morrison, Ashlyn Morrison, and Tristin Newsome; and sister-in-law, Ellen Hanson (Bill) of Americus.
