Mrs. Betty Wren Yates Moxley, age 76, of Sandersville, died Friday, October 03, 2014, at the Washington County Extended Care Facility. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 5th, at 2:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville. The Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers will be Kenny Joe Kauffman, Horace Yates, Matt Daniel, Jay Garrett, Toby Mask, Joey Ellis, Randy Wren, Dustin Avant and Thomas Avant.
Mrs. Moxley was born in Jefferson County the daughter of the late Joshua Truman Wren and the late Rosa Bell Gay Wren. She worked as a seamstress for Royal Manufacturing and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Moxley is predeceased by her husbands, Forace Robert Yates and Thomas Luther Moxley.
Survivors are her children, Sherry Yates Veal and Robert R. Yates and his wife Janie all of Sandersville; grandchildren, Jammy McCoy and his wife Shalena, Junior Yates and his wife Nikki, Travis Yates and his wife Hillary, Jeffrey Yates and his wife Rose, April Veal, Angie Veal and J.W. Daughtry; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Evelyn Kauffman of Augusta, Jeannette Hackle and her husband Bud of Meeks and Judy Yates of Sandersville; and her brother Billy Wren and his wife Lois of Milledgeville.
The family will be at the home of Robert and Janie Yates on Edgar Lane outside of Sandersville and they will receive friends on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
