Beuna Payne Segars

Mrs. Beuna Payne Segars, age 84, of Harrison,  passed away Friday, June 16, 2017 at Oconee Nursing Home following an extended battle with Alzheimer’s disease.  A celebration of her life will be held Monday, June 19 ^th at 2:00 p.m. at  Friendship Baptist Church near Davisboro with burial in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille.  Reverend Steve Keener will officiate. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Lake, Timothy Lake, Wesley Segars, Steve Ayers, Tyler Schuman, and Thomas J. Schuman.

Mrs. Segars was a native of Toccoa Georgia, the daughter of the late Allen E. Payne and the late Lorena Childs Payne.  She was a former resident of Deland, Florida, where she was a Stetson University volunteer.  Mrs. Segars was the former bookkeeper for Segars construction and also worked in the meat department of Piggly Wiggly and Winn Dixie as a meat cutter.  Later, Mrs. Segars owned and operated Nana’s Food Store in Harrison. She loved to garden and travel with her family. She was a devoted, loving and kind wife, mother, sister, Nana, aunt and friend.  Mrs. Segars attended Friendship Baptist Church.  She is predeceased in death by her husband, Dennis L. Segars and her son Rusty Segars.

Survivors include: daughters, Vicki Segars Lake of Palatka FL. and Becky Segars Reynolds and her husband Charles of Harrison; grandchildren, Allena Beal and her husband Lee, Lawren Vachon and her husband George, Leigh Anna Zaenglein and her husband John, Nathaniel Harrack, Christopher Lake, Nicholas Lake & his wife Sarah, Timothy Lake and Charlize Reynolds; eight great grandchildren; brother, James Henry Payne and his wife Francine; and sister-in-laws, Jean Payne, Louise Payne, Carolyn Ayers, Joyce Segars, Sandra Schuman and Donna Faye Segars.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church.
