Beverly Anne Hallman Alexander

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Grace Presbyterian Church of Columbus, Georgia. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Grace Presbyterian Church with a graveside service following at Park Hill Cemetery. Pastor Charles Hasty will officiate.

Beverly was born in Miami, Florida to the late Arthur Emmett Hallman and Helen Ann Walsh, moving to Columbus, Georgia as a young child. She graduated from Jordan High School and married her high school sweetheart, James Dennis Alexander. She went to work at AFLAC when she was 18 and served as the assistant vice president of human resources. She retired from AFLAC after 30 years of service and began working at Peachtree Natural Foods as the Human Resource Director. She worked there for 15 years.

Beverly was a great cook and loved to host family gatherings. She enjoyed painting with acrylics and oils and was an active member of the Columbus Artists/Art Guild. She was an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church and generously contributed to her community by volunteering at the Safe House of Columbus. Her Gentian Elementary classmates were dear to her heart and earned the nickname, “Gentian Ladies.” However, her most enjoyable and precious role was that of “MiMi” to her four adored grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Jason (Jessalyn) Alexander, her daughter Ashley Alexander Mobley, her four loving grandchildren: Ansley Elizabeth Mobley, Mary Preston Alexander, John Robert “Ian” Mobley III, and Anna Frances Alexander, and her brother Eugene Nelson Hallman. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband James Dennis Alexander, her son James Preston Alexander, her parents, Arthur Emmett Hallman, Sr. and Helen Ann Walsh, and her brothers, Arthur Emmett Hallman, Jr. and Edward Lowel (Nancy) Hallman.
