Billy Sam "Goat" Johnson

Mr. Billy Sam “Goat” Johnson, age 74, of 425 Peacock Road in Tennille died Thursday, January 16, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, January 19th, in the First Church of the Nazarene in Sandersville. Reverend Gary Mimbs and Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate with burial in the Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the son of the late Charlie M. Johnson and the late Ammie Louise Johnson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Louise Johnson. Mr. Johnson was a counselor for Broken Shackle Ranch in Davisboro for the past seven years. He was a retired employee of English China Clays, Inc. and had taught industrial maintenance for the Washington County Vocational Technical School. He loved to cook Bar-B-Que. Mr. Johnson served in the Georgia National Guard.

Survivors are his wife, Margie Gill Johnson of Tennille; a daughter, Cindy Johnson Glover and her husband Olin of Tennille; two sons, Danny Sam Johnson and his wife Patricia of Tennille and Stacey Tony Johnson and his wife Billie Jo of Tennille six grandchildren and nine great- grandchildren; three sisters, Bertha Sue Sanders and her husband Grady of Sandersville, Lonnell Phillips of Milledgeville and Brenda Prosser and her husband Sam of Sandersville; two brothers, Mike Robinson and his wife Deborah of Davisboro and J. W. Cooper of Dublin.

The family will receive friends at the Johnson residence, 425 Peacock Road in Tennille from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Saturday.
