Billy Mervin Williford

Mr. Billy Mervin Williford, age 71, of Tennille passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024.  A graveside funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, July 24th at 11:00 a.m. in Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.  Reverends Bobby Williford and Stacey Williford will officiate.  Billy's family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Billy was born and reared in Sandersville, the son of the late Mervin Williford and the late Elizabeth Bridges Williford.  He began his lifelong occupation as an auto paint and body technician early in his life working for Newsome's Body Shop downtown Sandersville.  Billy would later work for his uncle at J.W.'s Body Shop and also Rhodes Body Shop in Tennille.  He created his own business, Billy's Paint and Body Shop, in which he would own and operate for nearly 40 years.  Billy loved motorcycles, both riding them and working on them. He enjoyed going to Auto Races and being outdoors, especially around a fire.  Billy was a member of Kendall Heights Church of God and is predeceased by his wife, Teresa Waters Williford.

Survivors include his children, Shelley Hanson and her husband Jared of Beach Island S.C., Travis Williford and Jeremy Williford and his wife Ashely, all of Sandersville, Brad Crook, Brittany Williford, and Billy Dalton Williford, all of Tennille; grandchildren, Hannah Cooper, Caleb Cooper, Allison Williford, Heather Williford, Hadleigh Williford, Morgan Williford, Kayla Thompson, Annabelle Thompson, Landon Clements, Logan Clements, and Aaliyah Blanchette; and his brother, Bobby Williford and his wife Sheryl of Tennille.
