U.S. Vietnam Navy Veteran Bobby Ted Jackson Sr. age 72 was born on July 22, 1942 in Monroe
Ga. passed away Oct. 3, 2014 at his home on Cambridge Drive in Sandersville, GA surrounded
by his loved ones.
He was born to the parentage of Bob and Dolly Jane Duncan Jackson, the oldest of five
children. He was a loving, caring hero to his younger siblings and parents and later in life
to his grandchildren.
After graduating from Monroe H.S. in 1960, he joined the U.S. Navy.
in 1961 on the USNTC San Diego then continued on for 29 years on the following: USS LYDNE
McCORMAK(DDG-8), USS JASONIAR(AR-8), RTC ORLANDO, USS JOSEPH HEWES (DE-1072), USS PONCE
(LPD-15), USS DALE (DLG-19),FLEACTS YOKOSUKA JAPAN,USS KNOX. Here he retired in 1981 as
Bobby Ted Jackson Machinist's Mate Chief US Navy. In 1983 he reinlisted and served on USS
IOWA (BB-61), USS WAINWRIGHT (CG-28), NAS CORPUS CHHRISTIE, ISS ENTERPRISE (CVN-65). After
serving his country for nearly 3 decades he permanently retired in 1992 and returned to his
family in GA.
In his new found free time he enjoyed gardening, watching westerns on t.v., repairing small
engines, mowing the lawn, bonding with his many cats and having a few of his Old Milwaukee
Beers while watching his favorite sports teams. Sunday dinners were an important part of his
life as his family meant everything to him.
He is survived by one son Patrick Jackson (Kristi Barry Jackson) of
Sandersville, GA; One Daughter Hitomi Jackson; 3 sisters, Carol Jackson of Tennille, GA, Jan
Jackson Quispe(Dr. Guillermo Quispe) of Sandersville, GA, Cindy Jackson Taylor of Clayton,
GA. He had one brother John Phil Jackson of Tennille, GA.
He leaves behind 4 grandchildren; Pamela Robinson, Tanner Davis, Kelsy Gray and Ronin
Jackson. He loved his nieces and nephews; Dawn Riordan,Tommy Quispe, Caine Jackson, Emily
Roy, Colin Taylor, Alex Taylor, Albert Krathans; One great nephew Liam Riordan.
He was preceded in death by his wife Hisami Haga Jackson of 22 years, parents Bob and Dolly
Jackson and a son Bobby Ted Jackson Jr.
The family will receive friends and loved ones to visit and share in his memory on Tuesday
October 7, 2014 from 1p.m. until at the family home on Cambridge Dr. Visitation is welcome
anytime at the family home at 63 Cambridge Drive Sandersville, GA.
