Bobby Eugene Whipple

Mr. Bobby Eugene Whipple, age 77, of Tennille, died Sunday, September 29, 2019, following an extended illness.   A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 2 ^nd at 2:00 p.m. in May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Davisboro City Cemetery.  Reverend Scott Ferguson and Reverend Josh Mosley will officiate.  Pallbearers will be Tim Blue, Jordan Reid, Darryl Green Jr., Ricky Ellis Jr., Michael Chase Ellis and Travis Green.

Mr. Whipple was born in California and reared in Oklahoma City.  He began a career in law enforcement in the 1960’s and worked in Emanuel County, Jefferson County and Washington County retiring from the City of Tennille.   Bobby also worked in security for the Washington County Board of Education and formerly owned and operated Whipple’s Automotive in Oklahoma in the late 1980’s and 1990’s.  He was instrumental in establishing the Washington County Empty Stocking fund.  Bobby was a Mason and a former member of the Civitan Club.

Survivors are his children, Christopher Eugene Whipple and his wife Terri of Stapleton, Toni Whipple Hodges and her husband Lee and Debra Whipple Green and her significant other Bill Jenkins all of Sandersville; grandchildren, Christopher Ryan Whipple, Juli Krystine Whipple and her husband Juan Mendosa, Allyson Blair Whipple, Ricky C. Ellis Jr. and his wife Tonia, Stacey Williford and her husband Stanley, Jennifer Etheridge and her husband Jay, Dana Green Blue and her husband Tim, Darryl Green Jr. and his wife Carly, and DeAnna Green Reid and her husband Jordan; twelve great grandchildren; siblings, Charles Whipple Jr., of Edmond OK., Jimmy Whipple and his wife Patricia of Mustang, OK., Paul Whipple and Judy W. Suhre both of Oklahoma City, OK., Debbie W. Miller and her husband Keith of Moore, OK., and Cathy W. Calliman of Branson, MO.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
