Bonnie Swint Smith

May 29, 1944 — July 25, 2020

Ms. Bonnie Swint Smith, age 76, of Hill Lane, Sandersville, died Saturday, July 25, 2020 at her residence.  A graveside funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 28 th at 11:00 a.m. in Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Rev. Tripp Hodges will officiate.

Ms. Smith was born and raised in Baldwin County, the daughter of the late Chandler Hudson Swint and the late Dorothy Mae Wilcher Swint.  As a youth her family moved to Wilkinson County where she attended high school.  Ms. Smith worked in transportation for many years as a bus driver for the Washington County Board of Education and then as a driver for C.T. Harris Inc.  She was known by her CB handle as “Lady Bug”.   Her greatest love and passion was her family, especially her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Emory Hudson Smith.

Survivors are her children, Jean Smith and her husband Rusty of Sandersville,  Robin Oliver and her husband Bruce, and Chris Smith, all of Wrightsville, Clay Smith and his wife Grace, and Brandon Smith, all of Sandersville, and Taylor Hutcheson and her husband Ethan of Tennille; grandchildren, Shawn Smith and his wife Cynthia, Ryan Smith and his fiancé Ally, Brittany Barfield, Will Oliver and his wife Sydney and Alana Oliver; seven great grandchildren; and siblings, Carol Swint Anderson and Larry Swint and his wife Gevernie all of Sandersville.
