Brandon "Kyle" Yates

Mr. Brandon Kyle Yates, age 40, of Gwendolyn Street, Sandersville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 5, 2026. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of May and Smith Funeral Directors with burial following in Rutherford cemetery in Oconee. Reverend Andy Yates will officiate, and pallbearers will be Bruce Hodges, David Griffin, Tony Maggio, Kenny Lynch, Ephraim Swain and Trey Claxton. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Kyle was born in Augusta, the son of Buford Wayne Yates, Sr. and the late Alice Watts Yates. He worked with his father in the construction business. Kyle loved to have fun and when he was around there was never a dull moment. He had a very giving heart and was always trying to help other people. Kyle enjoyed mudbogging in his 4x4 truck and listening to music. In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his brother, Lonnie Yates.

Kyle is survived by his wife, Ashley Berneche; father, Buford Wayne Yates, Sr. (Lisa Brantley), of Sandersville; children, Kayla Yates, Reanna Berneche, Robin “Tater” Berneche, Randon Yates, Kaleb Blount, Landon Hall, and Payton Hall; granddaughter, Alice Walker; brother, Wayne Yates, Jr.; sisters, Elizabeth Gail Yates, and Tammy Yates; stepsiblings, John Haywood and Lee Sanders; and many cousins and friends.
