Mr. Charlie Doyle "Buddy" Sanders, Jr., age 76, of Tennille passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. A graveside funeral service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, September 7th at 11:00 a.m. in Zeta Cemetery, Tennille, Ga. Family and friends will officiate his service. Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Dye, Mark Ellington, Rex Wallace, Mike Daniels, Chatham Gunter, Randal Barnett, Wes McLeod, Joe Bush and Easton Sanders. The Sanders family will receive friends following the graveside service in the cemetery.
Buddy was a lifelong resident of Tennille, son of the late Charlie Doyle Sanders Sr. and the late Christine Smith Sanders. He attended elementary school in Tennille and graduated from Washington County High School. Buddy began his working career at Lapp Insulator, prior to co-owning and operating H and S Package Store in Tennille. He later began a career in the Kaolin Industry beginning with Anglo American Clays and retiring from Kamin as an equipment operator. Buddy enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing golf. He was an avid Georgia Bulldawgs fan and was known as a great storyteller. Buddy also possessed a way with words and enjoyed writing poetry.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanne Johnson Sanders of Tennille; children, Kevin Sanders and his wife Kelly of Toccoa, Kelly S. Irwin and her husband Zach of Kennesaw, Clayton Sanders and his wife Toni of Sandersville and Shannon Brinson and his wife Shannon of Bartow; grandchildren, Easton Sanders, Khloe Sanders, Ben Irwin, Blake Irwin, Mia Sanders, Greyson Sanders, Katie Daniels and her husband Mike, Rex Wallace and his fiancé Shanna Grant and Kasey Brinson and her fiancé Chatham Gunter; great grandchildren, Jase Wallace, Mick Daniels and Ivy James Wallace and siblings, Carolyn Brantley and her husband Bobby of Tennille, William Sanders and his wife Tita and Cathy Woodard and her husband Fred, all of Harrison.
