Byrtis Maxine Daniels

Mrs. Byrtis Maxine Daniels, age 89, of Sandersville died on Saturday, September 16, 2023. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, September 21 at May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with burial in Zeta Cemetery in Tennille. Reverend Danny Thomas will officiate. Pallbearers will be Carl Harrison, Wyatt Harrison, Jacob Daniels, Joshua Daniels, Lawton Daniels, Chandler Trousdell, Zack Morris and Robbie Morris.

Mrs. Daniels was a native of Bibb County, the daughter of the late Ernest Eugene Yarbrough and the late Mary Ethel Tidwell Yarbrough.  She was the wife of the late Lawton Alvin Daniels. She was preceded in death by great granddaughter, Savannah Megan Morris and siblings, Malcomb Yarbrough, Melvin Yarbrough, Beatrice Yarbrough, Jane Y. Rozier and Betty Y. Lindsey.  Mrs. Daniels was a retired cashier for Miller’s Food Store and a homemaker.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sandersville and enjoyed her friends at the coffee club at McDonalds.

Survivors are her children, Steven Lawton Daniels and his wife Peggy of Danville, Charlotte Daniels Waller and her friend Jeff of East Dublin, Miriam Daniels Kitchens and her husband Tony of Rockmart, Bonnie Daniels Harrison of Sandersville and Dawn Daniels Mitchell and her husband Chris of Sidney Maine; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren and expecting June Maxine Farmer in October; and sister-in-law, Molly Yarbrough of Lizella.

The family will receive friends at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville from 4:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Wednesday. The family request donations be made to First Baptist Church of Sandersville, 316 Mathis Circle, Sandersville, Ga. 31082.
