Mr. Carl Edward Moore, age 67, of 240 Horse Trail in Sparta, Georgia died Sunday morning July 20 in the McDuffie Regional Hospital in Thompson following an extended illness.

Memorial services for Mr. Moore will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday July 22 in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville. The Rev. Jerry Bradley will officiate.

Mr. Moore was a native of Baldwin County, Georgia, the son of the late Guy Neville Moore and the late Marjorie Hitchcock Moore. He was the retired owner of ABC Pawn Shop in Tennille. Mr. Moore was a former logger and owner of a construction company. He was a 1958 graduate of Sparta High School and was an United States Air Force Veteran. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors are his wife, Barbara Anne Carpenter Moore of Sparta, two sons, Guy Neville Moore of Lafayette, Ga. and Merritt Edward Moore of Maryland, three step children, Kathy Fowler Hyman of Mitchell, Stephanie Fowler Farmer of Milledgeville and James Tyler Fowler of Mitchell, eleven grandchildren, a great grandson, three sisters, Brenda Moore Hudson of Thompson, Mary Moore Howell of Mitchell and Dorothy Moore Huckabee of Colorado, a brother, James Moore of Adrian.

The family will be at the residence of his step daughter, Kathy Hyman, 6220 Warren Street in Mitchell, Georgia.

The family suggests that donations in memory of Mr. Moore be made to the American Lung Association, 3630 Dewey Gray Circle, Suite A, Augusta, Georgia 30909.
