Carl Edward Wetteland

Mr. Carl Edward Wetteland, age 79, of Ashville NC died on Sunday, October 18, 2020 in Ashville. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 23 in the Davisboro Cemetery.  Reverend Joe Cheeks will officiate.

Mr. Wetteland was a native of Sturbridge Massachusetts, the son of the late Sverre G. Wetteland and the late Virgina Hosmer Wetteland.  He was preceded in death by  half-brothers, Howard, Peter, James and David.  He was a former security guard and a retired chef.  He was a member of the Christian Church. Mr. Wetteland was a Marine veteran of the Viet Nam Conflict and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors are his daughters, Emily Wetteland of Davisboro and Stacey Wetteland Leary of Massachusetts and a son, Dwaine Wetteland of Texas; four grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Harman, Sandi Smith and Sonja Cooper; and nine nieces and nephews.

Carl had the biggest heart and introduced many to Christ and he will surely be missed.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Mission Rathburn House, 121 Sherwood Road, Ashville, NC 28803.

May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
