Caroline Pressel Brooks

Caroline Pressel Brooks, 86, of Winter Park, FL passed away in her home on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 20th, at 11:00AM at Antioch Christian Church Cemetery in Oconee.

Caroline, her husband, Dr. Alonzo Cleon Brooks, and their 2 children lived in Sandersville from 1963-1973. Dr. Brooks was a native of Washington County. He served as pastor of Poplar Springs Christian Church, Wrightsville Christian Church, and other interim pastorships. Caroline was active with her husband in the church and they were founding members of the board of directors for what is now Brentwood School in Sandersville. Caroline served as secretary of Linton Hall Elementary School which later became Brentwood School. Caroline also served as co-leader of the school Girl Scouts Troop.

Caroline is survived by her two children, Mary Caroline Brooks of Raleigh, NC and Thomas Cleon Brooks of Winter Garden, FL, and her sister Patricia Bowman of Markle, IN. She will be buried in the Antioch Christian Church Cemetery in Oconee, GA beside her husband.
