Sandersville

Mrs. Carolyn H. Brown, age 73, of Warthen, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Heritage Inn.  A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Monday, August 8th at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Warthen with burial in Washington County Memorial Gardens in Sandersville.  Reverend Anthony Baker will officiate. Pallbearers will be Dwayne McNure, Eric McNure, Lee Armour, Jackson Collins, Kelly Collins and Berry Morris.

Carolyn was born in Washington, Georgia.  She was reared in Washington and Crawfordville where she graduated high school.  Carolyn was trained to be an Emergency Medical Technician and began her working career with the Taliaferro County Health Department and Wilkes County Emergency Medical Services.  After her marriage to her late husband Victor, she moved to Washington County where she began a long career with the Washington County Regional Medical Center and retiring as director of Washington County Emergency Medical Services. Carolyn was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She took great pride in keeping her yards clean and "stick free". She loved collecting dolls, crocheting, making flower arrangements and playing the piano. Family card games where among her favorite things to do. She cherished time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her parents, Leonard and Louise Fouche Howard; husband, Victor M. Brown Jr.; son, Joey Armour; and sister, Jean Brown, all predecease her.

Survivors include her children, Tonya McNure of Sandersville, Henry Armour and his wife Dana and Vicki Collins and her husband Chad all of Warthen; grandchildren, Dwayne McNure, Ashley McNure, Eric McNure, Sierra McNure, Michael Lee Armour, Beth Armour, Jackson Collins and Natalie Collins; eight great grandchildren; and siblings, Hal Howard and his wife Jeanette, Lee Howard and his wife Beverly and Ricky Howard and his wife Cathy all of Washington and Marie Smith of Covington.

The family will greet friends on Sunday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.
