Ms. Jackson was a life-long resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Carl and Estelle Helton Wright. She was a “doer,” if it could possibly be done, she would do it and did her best not to ask for help in the process. She worked all her life, sometimes two or three jobs. After graduation she worked for West Drug Company, but Ms. Jackson spent most of her working career, at George D. Warthen Bank, where she started as a teller, but by the time of her retirement after 45 years, she had worked in all departments, becoming the first female loan officer at the bank, and rising to assistant vice president. In her spare time, Ms. Jackson was also a Mary Kay consultant. Her hobbies included watching Georgia Tech and the Atlanta Braves, and she very much enjoyed cutting her own grass. Ms. Jackson was well known in the community for her delicious cakes. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Sister’s Baptist Church where she served on various committees. Ms. Jackson’s greatest love was spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Carl Wright, Jr.
Ms. Jackson is survived by her children, Glenda Jackson and Jay Jackson (Michelle) both of Sandersville; grandchildren, Jonathan Ford (Jessica), Mollie Jackson Kennedy (Brandon), Kyle Kent (Kirsten), and Kaleb Kent (Kaylee); and great grandchildren, Kylee Kennedy, Serenity McCaw, C.J. Ford, Jacksyn Rae Kennedy, Linton Kent, Braelynn Kent, Baylee Kent, and Kolson Kent.
