Mrs. Carolyn Ann Jenkins Smith, age 69, of Sandersville died on Thursday, March 11, 2021 in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville following a brief illness.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Columbia, SC, the daughter of the late Garnet Charles Jenkins, Sr. and the late Mary Etta Reeves Jenkins. She was preceded in death by a sister, Sandra Jenkins Brown and a brother, Charles R. Jenkins, Jr.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur G. Smith, Jr. of Sandersville; two sons, Dr. Cecil E. Brown, Jr. (DeeDee) of Gainesville, Garnet R. Brown of Sandersville, and a daughter, Jessica Brown Summers (Jeff) of Port Orange, FL; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a twin sister, Marilyn Jenkins Brown of Sandersville and a brother, Ronald E. Jenkins of Maryland.
Mrs. Smith was a licensed respiratory therapist and was proud of her work providing care, love and support to her patients. She was invested and determined to see the best possible outcomes in the respiratory care. She provided dedicated care to patients at Washington County Memorial Hospital for many years before relocating to Florida and working at several hospitals in her new home.
She had many hobbies which she used to create projects and gifts for her loved ones. She enjoyed jewelry-making, gardening, sewing and crafting. She loved visiting the beach, shelling, and boating.
Mrs. Smith was of the Christian tradition and kept true to her spiritual beliefs throughout her life. She adopted the Catholic faith. She had a loving spirit and generous soul.
