Catherine Leverett

Mrs. Catherine Lindsey Leverett, age 85, of Sandersville, died Monday, August 26, 2019, at Heritage Inn following an extended illness.  A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 29 ^th at 2:00 p.m. in Washington County Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Reverend Danny Thomas officiating.  The family will receive friends also on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until noon at May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville.

Mrs. Leverett was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County, the daughter of the late Jesse Lindsey and the late Nancy Kitchens Lindsey.  She formerly worked for Millers Food Store prior to working for Ace Hardware where she enjoyed working in the garden shop.  She possessed a “green thumb” and loved growing flowers at her home, especially roses.  Mrs. Leverett was a member of First Baptist Church of Sandersville and she is predeceased by her husband, Bobby Lynwood Leverett and her son, Lynwood Eugene Leverett.

Survivors include her son, Wayne Leverett; daughter-in-law, Tina Jones Leverett both of Sandersville; granddaughters, Kim L. Whiting and her husband Hank of Marietta and Lindsay Leverett of Oconee; and great grandson, Henry Leverett Whiting.

The family will be at the Leverett home on Ridgeland Drive.
