Celia Faye Tatum Johnson, 59, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, after a brief illness. Services will be held on Friday, April 13, 2012, at 2:00 PM at Bethany Baptist Church, Tennille, Georgia, with the Reverend James B. Kennedy III officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 PM., Thursday, April 12, 2012, at May and Smith Funeral Directors, Sandersville, Georgia, and at Bethany Baptist Church on April 13, 2012, during the hour preceding the service.

Mrs. Johnson, daughter of Grace Jones Tatum, who survives her, and the late J. L. Tatum, was born in DeKalb County, Georgia, on July 11, 1952. She attended Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Bob Jones University at Greenville, South Carolina. At the time of her death she was administrative secretary at Republic Services, Vidalia, Georgia. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her daughter and joy of her life, Alexie Grace Waddell, and her loving husband, Mike Johnson, of Ailey, Georgia; beloved stepchildren, Holly Haley (Dan) of Eatonton, and Brad Waddell (Janna) of Eatonton, Brent Lovett of Charlotte, N.C., and Brian Lovett (Sandy) of Sandersville, Georgia; sister, Dawn Tatum Burke, of Covington, Georgia; nephew, Troy L. Burke, Sr., (Lucia), and great-nephews Troy L. Burke, Jr., and Preston Burke of Arlington, Texas; and a host of cousins and friends.

The family may be contacted at 2968 Mount Gilead Church Road, the residence of Everett and Eleanor Smart. May and Smith Funeral Directors, Sandersville, Georgia, are in charge of these arrangements.
