Charles Albert Amerson, of Macon, passed away March 1, 2014. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at 2:00 P.M. at Greenwood Baptist Church, 3400 Gray Highway, in Macon with the Reverend Joe Ferguson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the church.
A local visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at May and Smith Funeral Directors in Sandersville. Graveside services will be held following the visitation at 3:00 P.M. in the Amerson Family Cemetery off the Davisboro/Sparta Highway with the Reverend Frankie Sarrow officiating.
Mr. Amerson was born in Davisboro, Georgia the son of the late Albert L. Amerson and the late Florance Hodges Amerson. He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Amerson Norris. Mr. Amerson was a retired supervisor in the Fabrication Shop with the Georgia Forestry Commission. He was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church in Macon.
Survivors are his wife, Geneva Amerson; a daughter, Janice “Jan” Amerson Corbin of Macon; a son, Mike Amerson of Cumming; a brother, Billy (Carolyn) Amerson of Warner Robins; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Hart’s Mortuary and Crematory, Cherry Street, is in charge of funeral arrangements in Macon.
