Mr. Charles B. Eddins, III, age 87 of Sandersville, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Heritage Inn in Sandersville. A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Eddins life will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of May and Smith Funeral Home. Reverend Dr. Brian Welch will officiate. Pallbearers will be Randy Helton, Richard Welch, Dickey Wester, Eugene Griswell, Bill Brantley, Mike Martin, Butch Sullivan, Billy Wright and Bobby Henrick. The Silent Seekers Sunday School Class and the Wendy’s Coffee Club will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Eddins was born in Middlesex, North Carolina, the son of the late Charles B. Eddins, Jr., and the late Lois Land Eddins. Mr. Eddins held an associates degree and spent his career as Inventory Coordinator for Mead Packaging. He was an army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Eddins was a member of Sister’s Baptist Church where he was a member of the Silent Seekers Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the “Wendy’s Coffee Club.”
Mr. Eddins is survived by his loving wife, Mary Smith Eddins; children, Marsha Eddins of Covington, Linda E. Simons (Roy) of Daytona, FL, and Charles W. Eddins (Susan) of Statham; grandchildren, Brandy Kapelka (Chris), Stephanie Simons, Shea Shulman (Alec), and Samantha Wallace; four great grandchildren; and sister Glenda Temple of Charleston, SC.
The family will receive friends from 2 P.M. to 3 P.M. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Sister’s Baptist Church, 1807 East McCarty Street, Sandersville, GA 31082
