Mr. Charles Marvin Edwards, Jr., age 79, of 75 Stephens Road in Tennille died Saturday morning, December 22, 2012, in the Medical Center in Macon following a brief illness. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 24th, in the May and Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Sandersville with the Rev. Phil Bryant officiating.
Mr. Edwards was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Charles Marvin Edwards, Sr. and the late Mary Beckam Edwards. He was a member of the Tennille Masonic Lodge #256, the Scottish Rite Bodies and the Al Shiah Shrine. He was retired from Cascade Corporation as a robotic welder. Mr. Edwards was a multi-talented man who worked as a carpenter, woodworker and millwright. He worked with antiques and was an avid reader. He enjoyed dirt track racing and NASCAR. Mr. Edwards was a kind, friendly man and loved his family unconditionally.
Survivors are: his daughters, Cathie Edwards Little and her husband Billy Joe of Warner Robins and Lee Edwards Dixon and her husband Ned of Perry; his loving companion, Sarah Smith of Tennille; his grandchildren, Chase Little, Amanda Quinones, Aaron Little and Jesse Quinones; three sisters, Iris Edwards and Louise Edwards both of Warner Robins, and Carol Hayes of Hiawassee, and his four legged friend, Caesar.
The family suggests that donations be made to the Shriners Hospital in memory of Mr. Edwards.
May and Smith Funeral Home in Sandersville is in charge of the arrangements.
